X-Max is a new product developed from NUTEC
Protective Concepts and Advanced Fabric
Technologiesfeaturing patent pending and
proprietary technology in an advanced flame, thermal,
and blast protection system engineered for high-risk
environments.

X-Max is ideally suited for data centers, small modular
reactors (SMRS), power generation facilities, refineries,
offshore oil & gas platforms, and other industrial
applications with critical power-supply requirements,
flammable or explosive environments, or sensitive
infrastructure that requires blast, thermal, and flame
protection.

X-Max combines Advanced Fabric Technology’s
Xtegra™ auxetic blast-resistant fabric with NUTEC’s
MaxShield® SMG HI high-temperature insulation to
create a protective panel system designed to mitigate
the effects of thermal runaway in lithium-ion power
units.

Commercial lithium-ion battery packs are crucial for
backup power in applications such as data centers,
hospitals (medical devices, life support),
telecommunication towers, financial institutions, and
commercial buildings. Failure of a battery pack due to
thermal runaway can trigger fires and explosions.

Key Features:

  • Auxetic fabric outer layer
  • High Temperature Insulation up to 3000°F
  • Blast rated to 60 psi
  • High temperature bonding system
  • Synergistic functional behavior
  • Optional flame-barrier layers

The system has been tested up to 2000°F and delivers
both blast and thermal protection. Xtegra™ provides
blast resistance rated to 60 psi, while MaxShield®
SMG HI offers non-combustible performance with
a span 2000°F temperature rating and a proven record in
multiple fire-rated applications, including ducts, marine
systems, and appliances.
